Medicines Donated as Immediate Relief
Bayer Helps Victims of Earthquake in Haiti

Leverkusen, January 15, 2010 – Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Bayer is providing immediate relief in the form of medicines worth around EUR 90,000. The company will make the medicines available to the Red Cross in the Dominican Republic to enable it to be distributed quickly from there to neighboring country Haiti.

Bayer also calls on its employees worldwide to make donations through the Bayer Cares Foundation. The company will double the amount donated by its employees up to a level of EUR 100,000. These funds are to be used for projects that will make a sustainable contribution to reconstruction in the disaster areas.

Bayer is not directly affected by the earthquake in Haiti as it does not have any employees or offices in the Latin American country.
